Dear Ask The Doctor: Is flaxseed oil good or bad for you?
Dear Michael: This is a vegetable oil that contains essential fatty acids: Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9, same as fish oil and has the same beneficial effects. Some research studies suggest that flaxseed oil may be helpful in treating a variety of conditions such as high cholesterol, heart disease and high blood pressure. The flaxseed oil also contains B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, zinc, fiber and protein. |
