Dear Ask The Doctor: I am 55 with CAD, I am on 30mg of Imdur and have trouble getting an erection. Can I cut the dosage in half, still get the benefit, then safely take Viagra, or something like it?
Dear Bill:The use of regular or occasional organic nitrates in any form (such as isosorbide mononitrate) is contraindicated with concurrent use of Viagra (sildenafil). Therefore I do not recommend this combination. I would advise discussing alternative therapies or prescriptions with your family doctor.. |
