Chlamydia Reinfection |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: I was wondering is it possible to reinfect your self if you have sex with a condom on but you are not fully done with treatment with chlamydia. Can you reinfect yourself with your own semen in a condom? Dear Chris: Chlamydia is a bacterial infection of the genital tract that spreads easily through sexual contact. You may not know you have Chlamydia because the signs and symptoms of pain and fluid discharge don't show up right away, if they show up at all. Many people experience no signs and symptoms. Since you are receiving treatment, the infection would resolve within one to two weeks. During that time you should abstain from sex. Your sexual partner or partners also need treatment even though they may not have signs or symptoms. Otherwise, the infection can be passed back and forth. It's possible to be reinfected with Chlamydia that is why is not recommended to have sex until the treatment is completed. I would suggest you to finish your treatment before having sex again; condoms reduce but don't eliminate the risk of infection. 2-Use of nexium and risks of developing stomach infection I realize your concern about Nexium and risk of infection. Taking antacids and other medications that alter the formation of stomach acid, increase the risk of developing Fungal infections especially Oral Candidiasis. This is due to the decrease in The Acid environment that works as a defense mechanism. I hope I could clear your doubt. |
