Dear Ask The Doctor: Can Livalo a statin drug cause itchiness as a side effect. I have a cronic skin condition (perago nodulatis)for most of my life and I am very allergic. Dear Vicki: Livalo (Pitavastatin) is a cholesterol lowering medication, part of the statin family. Side-effects may include skin rash which has been reported infrequently and itching of the skin has been reported rarely. I would advise discussing the effects of this medication with your family physician prior to discontinuation or consideration for a suitable alternative. |
