Dear Ask The Doctor: I have swelling and severe pain on outside of my anus. It started 24 hrs ago and is getting worse i have been using preperation H with no relief and i have never had this problem before

Dear Don: Preperation H is used for the treatment of hemorrhoids. There are many different things that this sever pain could be and not just hemorrhoids. I would suggest going and seeing your GP as quick as possible to get this checked out.
