Dear Ask The Doctor: What immunizations are required for international work in Liberia Africa?? Dear David: To travel to Africa depending on what country of Africa are you planning on visit you will need to have a recent vaccination of Hepatitis A, Yellow Fever and Meningits. Also you would need to have a booster for tetanus, diphtheria and measles if you haven't had those in a while (+- 10 years). Since you are traveling anywhere in sub-Saharan Africa you should probably take anti-malaria prophylactics, there is no vaccine for this. |
