Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Claritin is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies, such as sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose and itching of the nose and throat. Claritin is also used to treat skin hives and itching in people with chronic skin reactions. You should not take Claritin if you are allergic to loratadine or to desloratadine (Clarinex).Before taking Claritin, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have liver or kidney disease. Do not give Claritin to a child younger than 6 years old without the advice of a doctor.Loratadine disintegrating tablets (Claritin Reditab) may contain phenylalanine. Talk to your doctor before using Claritin Reditabs if you have phenylketonuria (PKU). |
