Dear Ask The Doctor: I've been on birth control since November. Last night during sex the condom broke. I bought Plan B, I did not take it yet because I am scared it will interfere with my pill I already took today but I dont know what to do. I need some help. I would assume that it will just help more since they both have things in common in regards to contraceptives etc. but i really need advice. Dear Kastevie: There is no interaction taking Plan B and birth control together. Plan B would be a safe to take in your situation. The only thing you might find is some nausea by taking both Plan B and birth control. If you are very sensitive to nausea I do recommend taking Gravol thirty minutes before taking Plan B. This will really help with the nausea. It is also important to note that Plan B will be more effective if taken as soon as possible. Hope this information will help you. |
