Abnormalities discovered in a pap test

DEAR ASK THE DOCTOR: I went for my regular pap test last february and the results came back abnormal. I was referred to a specialist 6 months later who then performed another pap and took a biopsy sample. At the follow up appointment with the specialist she said the last results came back fine but wanted to repeat the procedure to be sure. I just recieved a call from her office stating that there were still abnormal cells and she is sending me for a second opinion. Should I be concerned about going to another doctor? Why is she sending me for a second opinion? What kind of abnormalities would show up?
DEAR JESSICA: Please check back here to see a response from our team of physicians at Ask The Doctor.
