Inconsitent Bleeding after Abortion Pill

Dear Ask The Doctor: I took the abortion pill about a month ago and I have been having inconsitent bleeding since. How long should this last?

Dear Skylar: Some bleeding post abortion can last for several weekd. Are you sure all products of conception were removed? Abortion pills are not as effective compared to dilatation and curettage. I still suggest you should see a doctor to be sure that all products were aborted. If some products were retained, the bleeding will continue and it should be removed. I hope this helps.
