Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi, i didnt know until 5 weeks ago, but i am 7 months pregnant and only 14 yrs old. i didnt realise so i was still having sex with my boyfriend. eve if it was anal sex would it injure the baby?

Dear Grace: Sex during pregnancy is not contraindicated during pregnancy, as far as you are comfortable and the implantation of the placenta is not in the lower half of the uterus (i.e. a condition known as placenta previa), which may increase the risk of bleeding and other complications.
