Possible Pregnancy after taking antibiotics with pills.

Dear Ask The Doctor: If I took a pregnant test exactly one week from my expected period and it was negative should I still be concerned? I also used a condom as back up protection because I was taking an antibiotic while taking birth control. I only had one act of sexual intercourse as well.
Dear Elysabeth: I do not think there is a need to be concerned. When used correctly, a male condom is about 98 per cent effective. However to be sure, the best time to test for pregnancy would be two weeks after sexual intercourse with the morning urine sample. I hope I have answered your question, take care. |
