Weird syntomps while on the pill... Am I pregnant?

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi I've been on mycroginion 30 for 6 years without any problems. Then, I skipped them for 1 month last year from oct to nov. I resumed taking them as soon as my period came on november without any problems till now. My last withdrawal bleed was on Jan 24, it lasted for 3 days. it was lighter and without the normal syntomps I have. Here is the prob; since Feb 4, I've been having pregnancy syntomps like nausea, dizziness, hot flushes, tender breasts, fatigue, stomach cramps, constripation, and sleeping problems. Now, I'm on my free-pill week and my withdrawal bleed is 2 days late, which is rare coz it always come on time. Besides, I'm very cautious, and I've not missed any pill. My question is, is it possible to be pregnant? Thanks for ur help. xx

Dear Diane: Even though contraceptive pills are very effective in preventing pregnancy, there is no such thing as 100% protection. I would definitely advise that you do a home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. A blood test for pregnancy can also be done which is more accurate and can detect pregnancy earlier.
