Plan b and birthcontrol pills

Dear Ask The Doctor: I am on tri-sprintic birth control. I just had my period and it finished last night. I had sex tonight and the condom broke. I want to take the plan b pill. But after I take plan b do I continue with my regular birth control as well?

If you were taking your contraceptive pills regularly, there would not be a reason to take Plan B. The contraceptive pills should be enough to prevent a possible pregnancy.

Taking Plan B could alter your cycle and probably develop spotting or inter menstrual bleeding.
