Dear Ask The Doctor: I stopped taking birth control pills in july and few days after that my period started. First period lasted from 10.july - 17.july. Then next period i had on 17.august- 25.august. Then third period i had 28.sept - 04.october. and then 15 october started spotting and it lasted until 10th of november. Spotting was brownish and light and i have been using a condom all this time after i stopped taking the pills. Is this normal after stopping birth control or can i be pregnant?
Dear Nikki: It make take several months after stopping birth control pills for your periods to become regular. I would suggest you to wait and watch for symptoms and if this continues I would suggest you to consult with your gynecologist to see for any underlying complications. Also since you've stopped the birth control pill, there may be a chance that you are pregnant. You may need to take a urinary pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy. I hope that answers your question. |
