Dear Ask The Doctor: I had a tubal ligation May 6 2010. I did bleed after the surgery but just a little, now on my second day after surgery I am bleeding really bad. Is this normal? Dear Leslie: It is not abnormal to have some menstrual flow after undergoing tubal ligation. However, this flow is usually short and is not heavy. If you continue to have a heavy flow for three or more days then you should return to your gynecologist for a complete examination. Also if you have any of the following symptoms regardless of when they occur you should go the emergency room: Fainting or dizziness, Generalized Weakness, Palpitations, or Shortness of breath. |
