Dear Ask The Doctor: During November I got my period on the tenth and then again on the 24th I had a blood pregnancy test and hormone levels done on December 22 which should of been the first day of my cycle as well the pregnancy test came back negative and hormone levels normal its now 7 days after when my cycle should of started and still no menses could I be pregnant?
Dear Nikia: It is difficult for me to comment whether you could be pregnant or not. Usually urine tests done for pregnancy are sensitive 2-3 weeks after conception. A blood pregnancy test is more sensitive and will be able to determine pregnancy even after 1 week of conception. Stress may also lead to a delayed period. Please consult your family physician in order to conduct further testing . All the best. |
