Dear Ask The Doctor: My period has been late by about 2 weeks, during those 2 weeks I have been having a sharp pain onnn the right side towards my hip. This morning I wake up with light spotting but with white chunks or little bumps of something in the blood. I am not on birth control or anything. I thought I might have been pregnant but I hasn't taken a test yet. What could it be? What should I do? Dear Carrie: It is difficult for me to say what could be the cause. I would definitely advise that you get a home pregnancy test done to see whether you are pregnant or not. You may also need to see your doctor/gynecologist to rule out infection, the presence of which requires you to be on antibiotics. I wish you well, take care. |
