Am i pregnant? is it too soon to take a pregnancy test? please help anyone!!
Now would be the best time for you to do a pregnancy test. If the FIRST day of your last period was on March 11, count 5-6 weeks from that (April 10-23), then now is the best time. You may do it 2 or 3 more times a week apart or until your period appears, its up to you. Do it early in the morning (first morning urine upon waking up) because it is most concentrated. Also, it is possible that you have a 35-day menstrual cycle. Try plotting this on the calendar. Day 1 should be the first day of your period. In a 35-day cycle, the most fertile days are days 17-19; to avoid unwanted pregnancy, avoid unprotected sex from Day 14 – 22. But this has a high failure rate. Better yet, ask your doctor about the different options (pill, patch, depot) for contraception since there are also certain conditions wherein these are contraindicated. Since your periods are irregular, this can also help to regulate your menstrual cycle. Again, ask your doctor first before starting on any contraception. Your symptoms may be consistent with pregnancy but the only test that confirms it is ultrasound. It is only reasonable to do this when a home pregnancy test is positive or when there is high suspicion of pregnancy. I hope this helps and take care. |
