Dear Ask The Doctor: My daughter normally has a 7 day period monthly, but lately she has had her period every other week for a month.Why do you think this is occurring? Do you think she should see a doctor? Dear Karen: There can be hormonal fluctuations at time especially if your daughter has just started her periods. These are known as anovulatory cycles. However if they have been lasting for long you need to take her to the doctor for more investigations including ruling out thyroids problems, pcos etc. All the best. |
