Dear Ask The Doctor: Is it possible that after being on mirena since april 12th 2011 and having completely normal periods, same time each month since, that my period can abruptly stop? Dear Alicia: It is possible to experience menstrual irregularities after mirena insertion. However, I would still suggest for you to see your doctor to make sure there is no concurrent pregnancy which requires removal of the IUD. I hope the answer helps, take care. |
