Dear Ask The Doctor: Me and the girl im seeing have been sleeping together for 4 months just at the begginning i slept with someone else....later finding out she had clymadia. a month and a half ago my now gf got tested and it came back negative . my test just came back positive how could this happen. she will def think i was cheating on her. is there another explanation that could cause this? Most patients don’t know they have Chlamydia because the signs and symptoms of pain and fluid discharge don't show up right away, if they show up at all. Since almost 2 months have passed since your girlfriend last diagnostic test, I would suggest her to take a new test, especially since you already tested positive, in any case you will both need to receive treatment for Chlamydia and rule out other sexually transmitted diseases. In most cases, the infection resolves within one to two weeks. During that time you should abstain from sex. I wish you the best.
the only was you could have acquired chlamydia is through sexual activity with and infected person. you likely acquired it from your ex partner. |
