Is it Possible to Contract Chlamydia Without Sexual Contact?

Dear Ask The Doctor: Is there any other way of contracting chlamydia if you have had no sexual contact with anyone?
Dear Trish: You would typically be safe because the transmission of chlamydia principally occurs during vaginal, anal, or oral sex, or from an infected mother to her baby during vaginal childbirth. But any activity or contact that involves exchange of sexually related fluids may pose a risk of contracting chlamydial infection. |
