Dear Ask The Doctor: I was infected with chlamydia about 2 months ago and took the prescribed antibiotics about a month ago. It mostly cleared it up but I still have a small amount of green-coloured discharge. Is it possible that I am still infected? Dear Cliona: The only way to make sure that you do not have a persisting chlamydial infection is to do a swab and send it for examination. It is also important to test your partner to see if he is also infected and treat accordingly. In the meantime use condoms during sex. Hope the information helps, take care. |
