Dear Ask The Doctor: Ok so my gf just found out she has. Hlamydeia from her last bf and I may have it to. I really don't wanna go to the health department and was wondering if that's the only way to get the antibiotics.
Dear Joseph: Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis. In males the symptoms of infection may be burning sensation while passing urine, discharge from penis and pain in the testicles, though 1/4 of those infected may not have any symptoms. Long standing infection male lead to urethritis in males.
Chlamydia can be effectively treated with antibiotics and follow up may be needed in 4 weeks to see if the infection is has been cured. So, yes you will have to go to the health department to get tested for infection and take medication if you have the disease. |
