Dear Ask The Doctor: My partner was diagnosed with chlamydia i know i have it as well since our last interaction was 4 days ago. i have been researching treatments and i came across Zithromax which is saying i only need a single pill. i just need an experts advice. Dear Samad: I do understand the cause of your concern, chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection caused by chlamydia trachomatis. Usually the infection does not produce any symptoms in males but may sometimes cause burning sensation during urination and discharge from the penis. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the infection to be detected in the tests. I would advise you to wait for 2 week then perfom the test for chlamydia and take treatment if you are diagnosed with the infection. In the meantime, wear condoms during sex until you and your partner are completely free from infection. |
