What is my likelihood of vaginal HSV infection?

Dear Ask The Doctor: My boyfriend had a cold sore for about 2 weeks and now it is just a red dot. He went down on me using a dental dam last night but still ended up licking me a few times without the dental dam cover. He said his lip was always covered with plastic regardless but i know it can be spread through saliva too which is why i wanted to use the dental dam. What is the likelihood of me contracting vaginal HSV1 from this encounter?

Dear Te: There is a risk of you getting HSV1 due to the fact that there was mucosal contact. However I would advise you to wait and watch for any symptoms to develop. If you suspect an infection, I would suggest doing a blood work after 2 week to confirm the diagnosis.
