Dear Tasha:
I know how worried you are about genital warts, also known as Condyloma Acuminata, one of the most common types of sexually transmitted diseases and produced by HPV virus. It is documented that one third of the patients with genital warts recover completely by themselves without treatment, however the underlying virus is never completely eliminated and genital warts may reappear even after treatment, this would depend on how your immune system is at the moment. You might still be able to transmit the virus even if no lesions are present; the best ways to prevent that is by using condoms and consider vaccination. |
