Hpv help |

Dear Ask The Doctor: I went to the gyno and was told that I have warts on my anus which could be HPV...I have NEVER had anal sex or any skin to skin contact down there...could this be anything else?? And if it is HPV how did I get it? I have also been with the same person for one and a half years and they are female. Dear Noma: Sexual contact is the most common way to get HPV. It doesn’t matter if it’s with the same sex. The virus can be spread through genital to genital contact and not necessarily intercourse. Also a person can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sexual contact with an infected person. Most infected persons do not realize they are infected or that they are passing the virus on to a sex partner. I hope I cleared your doubt.
