Dear Ask The Doctor: AFTER A PROSTATE CANCER SUGERY IT'S BEEN HARD TO HAVE SOLID ERECTIONS, THIS IS CAUSING A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE FAMILY, AND IT SEEMS THAT OFF THE COUNTER ERECTION BOOSTING MEDICATIONS ARE ALL LIES AFTER ALL. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND. THANKS
Dear EDDY: Erection problems are a well recognized complication of prostate surgery. Over the counter medications are unlikely to help. You should speak with your doctor about medications like Cialis or Viagra. These medications increase blood flow to the penis to sustain an erection. They are used with caution in persons with heart problems who are on other medications which lower blood pressure. |
