Dear Ask The Doctor: My sex life has been awesome except the last 2 weeks. It starts off fine and in about 10 minutes i feel pain and its like my vagina contains no more moisture.I have always had a very moist vagina and rarely needed any foreplay. I had to stop my husband during intercours last night and im still feeling the irritations today as i sit at my desk. Im thirty years old and we recently went through an affair on my husband's part could any of these have an effect on my problems that im having.Im going to see a physician but dont know what to say to them. Can menopause come to me this early or can there be a more simple answer?
Dear Rubeka: Hello, I realize your concern about vaginal irritation and pain while having intercourse. Surely there can be other explanations besides lack of moisture and lubrication. Urinary infections which are localized on the Urethra or the bladder can also produce pain during intercourse which can be confused with lack of moisture. Other more complex causes such as Endometriosis which is the presence of Uterine lining outside the Uterus could cause extreme pain during sex. A more detailed examination and possible Urine test might probably be asked by your physician. I wish you a prompt recovery. |
