Dear Ask The Doctor: I have recently missed my period by nearly a full month, but i know im not pregnant as ive had a blood pregnancy test which came up negative. I'm suffering with diorrhea and having minor pains when passing urine and pain in the lower abdomen, are these signs of a sexual transmitted infection? That is one consideration when one has pain on lower abdomen. However, any infection of the pelvic organs (urinary bladder, reproductive organs) can cause pain on that area of the abdomen. It is more likely you have a urinary tract infection, probably the bladder. It would be wise if you have yourself checked by a doctor to have tests done. A simple CBC and urinalysis will be very helpful to diagnose your condition and you may need antibiotics. I hope this helps. |
