Wet Dreams in Young Adults

Dear Ask The Doctor: At what age should a man stop having wet dreams? My Fiance is almost 25, and with in the last year and a half he has had about 4 wet dreams. He gets really upset about it. I usually know when it happens, but I still ask if he is ok. He lies to me and tells me he was in the bathroom doing his buisness. And when I notice he has to get clean dry boxers I tell him I know what happend and he yells at me. Should he seek medical help or is there something I can do to help stop this issue?
Dear Derek: Men usually have wet dreams at the onset of adolescent years. In rare instances, it may persist to young adulthood. i'm sure your fiance is aware of it but he is just too embarassed to accept it. He may have some unresolved psychological issues that could have triggered these wet dreams to persist. If this is really bothering you, try talking to him in a non-offensive way and ask if he is willing to consult a psychologist for this problem. I hope this helps. |
