Dear Ask The Doctor: Every 21th of each month the period starts spotting for 7 to 8days and then start normally 4-5 days please suggest note that all my hormone results are good
Dear Nisrina: The cause of spotting during the middle or end of the menstrual cycle could be the result of due to the rise of estrogen during ovulation which causes some shedding of the endometrium or due to implantation bleed.
There is also a concern for abnormal spotting due to low levels of the hormone progesterone or diseases like endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, OCPs and STDs. If this bleeding continues, you may have to see your ob/gyn doctor for further evaluation of the above mentioned causes. |
