Bleeding and Other Problems During Sex

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have been with my wife for goin often years now. I leave for work for two weeks at a time and when I come back and have sex with her we always seem to have some sort of problem. First it felt like somethin inside her was cutting me. I had what looked like scratches on my penis. That passed then it hurt when I urinated after sex. Now it burns n peels. My wife also has been experiencing problems she started off with the bleeding after sex then I would tear her during sex now she says it inches n burns inside. What could be the problem.? Atheist we thought that maybe it was cuz we don't have sex to often but now I don't know. Please help us this is not something we want to go air out its an embarrassing question

Dear Sam: I would recommend that you visit your family doctor for examination of your wife and yourself, it seems that she may have developed some underlying gynecology condition that may be causing her symptoms of bleeding, itching, burning etc. Possibilities include cervical or vaginal inflammation, infection, polyp or any abnormal growth, any of which if not diagnosed and treated appropriately may lead to flare up of the underlying condition, causing irreversible consequences. You also need to get yourself checked to rule out any infection or growths that may have gone unnoticed before.
