Hands shaking sometimes in older male

Dear Ask The Doctor: I noticed about 3 weeks ago when I would be doing something that my hands would shake. They don't do it all the time but I was wondering why.

Dear Larry: There are many reasons your hands could be shaking. The best thing to do would be is get a neurological evaluation done. There are many conditions which could be involved including parkinsons disease. Another thing it could be is a condition caused essential tremor which is very common in older people.
