Dear Ryan: Prednisone and other medications in the same class (corticosteroids) have the capability to cause many symptoms, especially when they are used long term. Less serious prednisone side effects may include acne, dry skin, thinning skin, bruising or discoloration. These are not permanent and will resolve once off the drug.
