Which OTC drug can I take for acid relux symptoms? |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: I have just recently been experiencing acid relux and heartburn symptoms. I have Eosinophic Esophagitis, and currently take Floventdaily. Is there an over-the-counter medicine I can take to releive these acid reflux symptoms,in combination with Flovent? If so, which medication would you recommend? Dear Joshua:
I would like you to understand that Lifestyle changes may help reduce the frequency of heartburn. Avoid Common triggers such as fatty or fried foods, alcohol, chocolate, mint, garlic, onion and caffeine may make heartburn worse. Wait at least two to three hours after eating before lying down or going to bed. If this doesn’t work, I would suggest you to take Prilosec OTC this medication help decreasing the production of Gastric acid and would certainly diminish your symptoms. However if you keep having heartburn and this interferes with your daily activities, you could be suffering from Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disease, a visit to your primary care physician might be necessary. I wish you a prompt recovery. |
