Nausea and Acidic Taste After Meals |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: I feel light headed and nauseous most of the time and belch an acidic taste after meals, why ?? Dear Krystal: When you overeat, or eat too much too fast, the food enters your stomach all of a sudden causing your stomach to produce excess acid to digest so much food. Due to the excess food & acid as well as overall activity in the stomach, the sphincter tends to release some of the mixture from the stomach into the esophagus causing the acid taste in your mouth. You may try to eat more slowly and/or take small frequent meals to avoid this problem. You cal also get your blood hemoglobin levels checked. Low hemoglobin counts may make you feel dizzy and nauseous, along with decreased appetite and food intake which may cause you to feel hyper acidic and reflux into the mouth. Stress may also be causing your symptom. You should follow a healthy diet for proper nutrition and use meditation, yoga, walks and relaxation therapy to help you relax. |
