Dear Ask The Doctor: Upper adominal pain caused from what i suspect is an acid reflux problem as my doctor has prescribed me nexazole in the past, but the pain is persisting this time any help or advice as im becoming more concerned abut this problem
Dear Finbarr: Acid reflux is a common cause of upper abdominal pain. Since your pain persists even after taking nexazole, you need to consult your doctor on other possible diagnoses like gall bladder stones, pancreatitis and peptic ulcer disease. A complete blood count, liver function test, an ultrasound abdomen ,serum lipase and an endoscopy may help in the diagnosis.
