Dear Ask The Doctor: How much bleeding is normal after ACL surgery? My brother had surgery a day ago and he is now bleeding through to the outside about 1-2 inches in diameter. Thank you. Dear Lee: There should be no bleeding after ACL surgery. The fact that your brother's dressing has become visibly soiled a day after surgery suggest that a complication has occurred. He needs to return to his orthopedic surgeon immediately! |
