After five years. crepitus and can't kneel down after ACL

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi there.. I got my ACl reconstruction Last 2006 and it's been 5 years.. But I still can't kneel down my left knee. How can this be resolved and why is it that I still can't kneel down? I'm also having crepitus. When I extend my leg.

Dear Dana: The only thing i can recommend is seeing physio for more range of motion exercies and strengthening the muscles supporting your knee. You will be amazed at the wonders of having strong muscles supporting that area. Hope this helps. Remember take action and go see your physiotherapist.
