Dear Ask The Doctor: Please know I have increasing pain with areas of swelling and puffiness. This is on my left ankle and I have had two prior fractures to the same ankle in the last few years. the most recent being this past spring what are your suggestions and advice? Dear Jacqueline: You have not mentioned how long you've had the ankle pain and how it occured, so it is difficult for me to give an opinion. If there is pain immediately upon walking or bearing weight, pain in the medial and lateral malleoli, you need to see your doctor or orthopedic surgeon and get a foot and ankle x-ray. |
