Dear Ask The Doctor: I underwent an ACL last week and got discharged after 2 days from the hospital. From the time I returned home, there has been continuous bleeding which is increasing day by day. When I doctor he said he isnt answering properly. I am a little worried. What could be the reason of the bleeding. Please answer. Dear Shilpa: Bleeding after any surgical procedure is a cause for concern. It suggest that a blood vessels was injured during surgery and was not  adequately dealt with at the time of surgery. This was likely a minor blood vessel such as a small vein or artery. There is no way to stop the bleeding other than to re-operate and arrest the bleeding vessel. For this you will need to visit with your surgeon as soon as possible to have this issue addressed. |
