ADM in one eye and retinal vein occlusion in other eye

Dear Ask The Doctor: My 86 year old mother has dry ADM in one eye and retinal vein occlusion in the other. Her sight is all but gone. She has regular check ups at her local clinic and has daily eyedrops. We are told there is nothing more that can be done for her poor eyesight. Is this the case or could private surgery give her back some sight?

Dear Alex: I am sorry. Unfortunately, both these conditions are incurable. There is no treatment that will improve her eyesight.
