Growing Testicles

Dear Ask The Doctor: When I was a little kid i remember having two testicles and now about five or ten years later I seem to be growing testicles? I used to have 2 but now I have four. The new ones that form are not connected to the other ones so it isn't a growth on my testicle. I have three testicles in my left side and only one in the right. Is this something to be worrying about.

Dear Ben: The condition you have is called Polyorchidism and is not usually a cause for concern as it does not cause any symptoms. It is not a common condition and perhaps was present from birth but went unnoticed. You should confirm this by seeing your local doctor who will examine you and order an ultrasound of the scrotum to confirm. If you so desire, the additional testicles can be surgical removed.
