Dear Ask The Doctor: I know i have panic attack and anxiety issues but the question i have is simple. why do i always have sweaty palms and sweaty armpits ?
Dear Luke: Panic attack and anxiety are definite cause of increased sweating but other issues that can cause similar symptoms are systemic illnesses like hyperthyroidism, chronic infections, kidney disease and diabetes, certain medications, alcohol, caffeine intake and low blood sugar. Treatment depends on the underlying cause. You may want to get your thyroid hormones checked for any abnormality. Drink more water to compensate for the fluid lost through sweating. You can consult your GP for a complete physical examination if it continues. |
