Dear Ask The Doctor: I get up to 4 to 6 anxiety atttacks a day. sometimes less. mostly i get 4 or 6 though. and its getting me scared. should i be worried?
Dear Rowan: Anxiety attacks are typically characterised by increased heart rate, sweating, nausea, feeling of going crazy usually in respose to a stressor or a situation. While they can be primary , there are also various conditions like thyroid problems which can lead to anxiety . I would advice you to get checked up thoroughly to rule out any organic cause. Having 4-6 attacks per day can be very debilitating and there is medication and therapy to treat the same so please contact your family physician. All the best. |
