Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi. I'm 17 years old and male. I just went to the bathroom to pee and i noticed i suddenly got this sharp pain in the lower right stomach. I quickly searched google and the symptom fits in on having an infection in the appendix. However, is it even possible that it's infected since i got such instant pain that i had never felt before? Right now I'm trying to not move around too much or even breath too deeply since it hurts.
Dear Sebastian: The symptoms that you have described of lower right abdominal pain, suggest that you are probably suffering from acute appendicitis, intestinal colic or a ureteric colic. If the pain does not resolve on its own or becomes more severe and/or other symptoms develop (fever, vomiting, etc), then you should seek medical opinion. |
