Dear Ask The Doctor: I've been up for 5hrs with intense gas like pains. I can't lay on my stomach or on my side. I've thrown up and diarrhea. Could this be a simple stomach virus or something more? Like a appendicitis? Thanks Dear Melinda: The symptoms you are experiencing could definitely be due to stomach flu, which is the most common cause of vomiting and diarrhea. Usually no treatment is required other than adequate fluid intake and over the counter anti-emetics. However if your symptoms worsen, your abdominal pain increases or you develop a fever, consider see your doctor then to rule out appendicitis or even renal stones. |
